Footprints

I read in the paper today that footprints were discovered in Mexico that may undermine the Bering Strait land bridge theory. Of course, Native Americans like Vine Deloria have disputed the Euro-centric assertion that the land bridge existed. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Karla Homolka was released from prison yesterday. I don't know what's scarier, the fact that she's free, or the fact that she studied psychology behind bars & doesn't appear to understand the enormity of her actions. She honestly thinks she should be able to assume a quiet life, having apparently paid her substantially reduced (due to a plea bargain) debt to society. However, if she really wanted to resume some sort of normalcy (I shudder to think what her definition of normal is), why was her first stop out of prison the CBC to do an interview?

We're going to try to to some concrete stepping stones tonight when it cools off a bit. Hopefully we aren't eaten alive by mosquitoes. It figures that when we finally have weather that allows us to go outside, it comes literally with the price of blood--nothing like a mosquito price tag. Hopefully pix will follow.
